The Washington Nationals and Live Nation made a major announcement on Friday that Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's 2012 'Wrecking Ball' World Tour will make a stop at Nationals Park on September 14. Tickets for this momentous concert event will go on sale at 10:00am on Friday, April 27 at tickets.com.
"We are excited to welcome Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band to Nationals Park for what will no doubt be an unforgettable performance," Nationals Chief Operating Officer Andrew Feffer said.
Springsteen & the E Street Band have already earned accolades for their stellar performances on the current tour. Rolling Stone called the show "epic," the New York Times said "explosive" and the Boston Globe wrote of the concert's "energy that bordered on superhuman." Bruce Springsteen's 'Wrecking Ball' (Columbia) was released last month and debuted at #1 in the U.S. and 14 other countries.
Springsteen & the E Street Band is just the latest major act to play Nationals Park over the past few seasons. The home of the Nationals has also hosted sell-out shows featuring Elton John and Billy Joel in 2009 as well as Dave Matthews Band with Zac Brown Band, in 2010. One of the most iconic acts alive today, Springsteen & the E Street Band are sure to deliver a memorable performace this fall.
"There's nothing more American than baseball and rock 'n roll in the Nation's Capital," Feffer continued. "Bringing such an iconic show to Nationals Park is just an another example of our commitment to creating the ultimate fan experience."
