FIRST LADIES WIVES PROGRAM
First Ladies

The Washington Nationals are committed to our community, which is comprised of the Greater Washington, D.C., area. The Washington Nationals First Ladies (wives and girlfriends) have also stepped up to the plate to help make a difference.

We are fortunate to have a generous group of wives who want to help make a difference in the D.C. area and are excited to continue to build and expand this program for many years to come.

The First Ladies put together Player Favorites baskets, which are auctioned off during the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation's (WNDF) Dream Gala. Additionally, they support community relations with the Thanksgiving in June Food Drive, Christmas in July Toy Drive, and the Save-A-Life Saturday Blood Drive. The wives lend a hand at the gates and also go on air (TV and radio) to help promote the events.

Washington Nationals First Ladies 2nd Annual Back to School Drive - August 2-3

The Washington Nationals First Ladies launched their signature program in 2007 -- the Annual Back to School Drive. This year's event will take place during our series against the Cincinnati Reds. On these days, the First Ladies will be present at all gates to collect school supplies and new books from fans.

Fans can donate backpacks, pens, pencils, notebooks and books, as well as other necessary supplies for the classroom, which will then be donated to a school or agency in need. Last year's drive was a huge success! The 13 bins of supplies collected were donated to the Washington Nationals' adopted school Kimball Elementary, located in Southeast D.C.
