The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation and Washington Nationals Baseball Club are committed to community partnerships that improve the lives of children and families across the Washington Capital Region. A 501(c)3 charitable organization, the Foundation's three cornerstone programs focus on children's education, health and recreation:
- The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy:
In Partnership with the District Government The Academy will offer inner city youth a safe environment that encourages and enhances academic development while providing the opportunity to learn and play the game of baseball. Located in Ward 7's Fort Dupont Park, the facility's three baseball fields and clubhouse are expected to open Summer 2012.
- The Washington Nationals Pediatric Diabetes Care Complex at Children's National Medical Center:
In Partnership with Children's National Medical Center This world-class facility will provide a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting families of children with diabetes. With state-of-the-art treatment rooms and a multi-functional education center, the facility will house classrooms, a media room, a demonstration kitchen, computer kiosks and various other tools to empower families battling diabetes.
- The Neighborhood Initiative:
Grants and in-kind donations are among the various resources presented to local non-profit organizations that are dedicated to improving the Southeast/Southwest DC neighborhoods surrounding Nationals Park and beyond. Beneficiaries include the Earth Conservation Corps, DC RBI, Brandywine Street Association, Arlington Little League Challenger Division and Rebuilding Together DC, among others.
