Biography:
Adam Troy Dunn...is a 1998 graduate of Caney (TX) High...there, was regarded as one of the nation's top prep quarterbacks... completed 282 of 544 career passes for 4792 yards and 44 touchdowns...signed to play quarterback at the University of Texas under Mack Brown...played one season of football with the Longhorns, but red-shirted...announced intention in Spring of 1999 to pursue a baseball career full time.

Again hit 40 homers, posted 100 RBI and walked 100-plus times, yet saw tenure with the Reds end with August 11 deal to ARI...became just the 8th player in MLB history to notch 5 straight 40-homer seasons...paced the NL with 40 home runs...also ranked among NL leaders in at-bats per home run (2nd, 12.9), OBP (9th, .386) and OPS (9th, .898)...hit a home run in career-best 5 straight games, May 14-19, to match CIN's franchise mark set by Ken Griffey Jr., Johnny Bench and Ted Kluszewski...in 44-game dash with ARI during a tight NL West pennant race, registered 17 extra-base hits, 8 home runs, 26 RBI and 42 walks...thus, reached base safely on 77 occasions-or 1.8 times per contest-during the 44 high-intensity contests with ARI...250th career home run was game-tying 9th-ininng shot off Trevor Hoffman, May 23 at SDP...mashed 12 homers in July to match single-month career high...laced game-ending double in ARI's 4-3 win, September 3 vs. STL...hit game-winning 2-run shot in 8th inning, September 15 vs. SFG.
