The Jeter's Leaders is a youth leadership, social change program named by the captain of the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter, and funded by his Turn 2 Foundation. The program is designed to promote healthy lifestyles, academic achievement, and social change activism among high school students.
Throughout the year, members of the Jeter's Leaders are involved in projects that offer opportunities for them to learn more about themselves and their community. The Leaders are expected to model positive behavior and deliver a message to their peers focusing on staying in school, remaining drug and alcohol free and giving back to the community.MISSION

The Jeter's Leaders program includes a commitment to leadership development. In doing so, we will be focusing on essential human qualities of leadership/character development, which are called the "10 Pillars of Leadership."

To facilitate learning in the pillar areas, a variety of strategies are used to enhance each Leader's development. By integrating techniques into the current structure and modeling specific behaviors, the goal is to help the Jeter's Leaders to infuse leadership development and qualities into their daily lives.PROGRAM GOALS
Through the 10 Pillars of Leadership, five major goals have been developed:
Goal 1: To promote living healthy lifestyles.
Goal 2: To provide students with the ability to serve their community.
Goal 3: To offer students the opportunity to mentor and act as role models to others.
Goal 4: To support student's efforts to achieve academically.
Goal 5: To expose students to experiences that further their professional development.
Since its launch in 1996, the Turn 2 Foundation has awarded more than $20 million in grants.
Social Change Project
The Project is an event created to share one of the Foundation's principles with communities.
Turn 2 Foundation Dinner
The 19th Annual Turn 2 Foundation Dinner will take place Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015.
