Brad Hawpe believes camaraderie played a big part in the Rockies' dramatic late-season run to their first National League pennant.
"I don't think you can get to the World Series like that unless you really do enjoy your teammates and love being a part of that team. That's what it was here," Hawpe told MLBPLAYERS.com in a recent Players Talk show.
"To be able to be a part of a team, to make the playoffs like that and go to the World Series for the first time in our organization's history, it was real cool. To do it with the guys that we got to do it with is something I'll always remember."
In his third full Major League season, Hawpe set career-highs in runs (80), hits (150), home runs (29), RBIs (116), on-base percentage (.387) and slugging percentage (.539).
