Basic Agreement

In 1968, the MLBPA negotiated the first-ever Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in pro sports. The agreement raised the minimum salary in baseball and set the tone for future advances. It has evolved and strengthened over the years with each generation of players. More »


The MLBPA's founding changed the landscape of pro sports forever. Marvin Miller was executive director from 1966 to 1983. In that time, base salaries, pension funds, licensing rights and revenues were brought to new levels, laying the groundwork for one of the strongest unions in the country. More »

Business Affairs

The business affairs program utilizes the collective marketing power of MLB players to assist licensees and sponsors who want to associate their brands and products with the excitement Major Leaguers can provide. Revenues are utilized to pay expenses of the program and to support other programs. More »

Players Trust

Because of their caring and commitment to people in need, MLB players formed a charitable foundation that is the first of its kind in pro sports. Through the Players Trust, Major Leaguers contribute their time, money and celebrity to call attention to important issues in the community. More »

Baseball Tomorrow Fund

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund (BTF) is a joint initiative between MLB and the MLBPA. Its mission is to promote and enhance the growth of youth participation in baseball and softball worldwide. The fund awards grants to organizations involved in the operation of youth programs and facilities. More »
