Cardinals 9, Nationals 4
Albert Pujols is greeted by Tony La Russa after homering. (Pablo Martinez Monsivais/AP)
Albert Pujols continued his torrid start to the 2009 campaign with a two-run homer in the first inning, but it was Rick Ankiel who was the late hero for the Cardinals, snapping a ninth-inning tie with an RBI double to deliver St. Louis a victory in the first of a four-game set in Washington, D.C.
