 Nats thwart steal attempt
 Lopez's two-run homer
Pitcher Joel Hanrahan and shortstop Felipe Lopez each showed off multiple skills in helping the Nationals earn a series split against the Giants. Hanrahan picked up the victory with 5 1/3 solid innings and smacked a double as part of a pivotal rally. That put him on base for a two-run homer by Lopez, who also cut down a runner at the plate to extinguish a potential rally.
