Using his trademark sinker, Shawn Hill rendered the Phillies' red-hot bats virtually useless on Thursday, earning his second win of the season. Hill pitched eight-plus innings, allowing two runs on four hits. Austin Kearns continued to haunt Philadelphia, going 2-for-3 and making a diving catch in the sixth innning.

Hamels has control issues By Ken Mandel / MLB.com
Cole Hamels started his outing on Thursday the way he dominated his last one -- with a strikeout. However, the magic he harnessed to fan 15 Reds last week was absent this time around as the lefty suffered his first loss of the season. Control problems dogged Hamels, who walked in a run during a three-run sixth.
