Livan Hernandez had an Easter Sunday surprise up his sleeve when he took the mound for the D-backs in Washington. The veteran right-hander threw 5 2/3 hitless innings before allowing a double to Ryan Zimmerman. Hernandez finished allowing no runs and three hits while striking out one in seven dominant innings.
The Nationals' first-inning woes continued Sunday, as an error contributed to two Arizona runs. Shawn Hill gave up two runs over 6 2/3 innings of work, while notching two strikeouts. It was another tough day for Washington at the plate as well, as a former teammate, Livan Hernandez, held the Nats hitless for 5 2/3 innings.
