    Oakland A's right-handed pitcher Fernando Rodriguez had successful surgery on his right shoulder today at the Gold Coast Surgery Center in Chicago, Ill. The surgery was performed by Dr. Anthony Romero, who repaired a tear in Rodriguez' latissimus dorsi tendon and did a debridement procedure on his teres major tendon. The latissimus dorsi was completely avulsed and the teres major has good attachment with minimal tearing. Protocol for this surgery would be to begin throwing activity in four months.
