In the fourth inning, Hernandez grounded out to third baseman Andy LaRoche for the final out. As he was taking his batting glove off, Hernandez noticed that the finger was bent backward. He left the game and was replaced by Ronnie Belliard.
"He doesn't know how he hurt it," Nationals manager Manny Acta said. "All he knew was that he was taking his batting gloves off and his finger was to the back of his hand and he got scared. He thought it was broken. They sent him in and it was dislocated."
Catcher Jesus Flores, on the disabled list because of a right shoulder contusion, will go to Viera, Fla., this weekend to start swinging a bat. He is already playing catch without any problems.
