Report: Second victim in accident dies
Suffered injuries Friday in shuttle ride from Nationals Park

The accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. ET on Friday night, when two men standing on the second level of an open-top bus struck their head on the 11th Street overpass. The first victim died Friday night, while the second was listed in critical condition and passed away Saturday night.
The bus was part of a shuttle service the Nationals offer fans parking at the lots at RFK, since parking around the new stadium is sparse. Nationals president Stan Kasten met with members of the media Saturday to express the Nationals' sympathy for the victims' families and others touched by the accident.
"The Nats are terribly saddened by [Friday] night's event," Kasten said. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all involved."
Kasten said the Nationals contract their shuttle service out. He declined to go into more detail about the incident, because he said he felt it prudent to make sure he knew all the details of the incident before making specific statements.
"We do contract with an outside party to provide that service," Kasten said. "But there are several entities involved so I don't want to get into any details without them being completely correct."
Kasten also confirmed that open-top buses were not being used Saturday night, and the Post reported that the shuttle service usually employs standard, closed-cabin buses.
