Zimmerman's shoulder improving
Washington third baseman says he's making progress

Zimmerman is listed as day-to-day, and there is no timetable as to when he will return to action. He most likely will miss the rest of the series against the Padres.
According to Zimmerman, the doctor said there's no structural damage in the shoulder. Zimmerman had been playing more than a week with the sore shoulder. He hurt it on May 18, when he was sliding headfirst into second base against the Orioles.
The news was first reported on Saturday by catcher Paul Lo Duca, who made a guest appearance on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
"It feels a little bit better today. So I keep making progress," Zimmerman said. "It's a day-to-day thing. I'm starting to do some strengthening things with the trainers. It has been encouraging. I have no setbacks or doubts. Everything is going good."
In other news, right-hander Shawn Hill said his right elbow is feeling better and he expects to make his next start, against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
