Spring Training Fan Guide: Nationals

Space Coast Stadium, Viera, Fla.

Washington enters the franchise's fifth exhibition season in Viera, Fla., the third as the Nationals and the first under new skipper Manny Acta.

As Nationals fans prepare for their journey south to Florida, here are some questions and answers that should help make it a good trip:

When do the Nationals arrive at camp?
Nationals pitchers, catchers and injured players will report to camp on Feb. 13, with the first workout scheduled for Feb. 15. Position players report on Feb. 18, and will work out on Feb. 20.

When do games start?
Washington starts the exhibition season on March 2, when it visits Vero Beach to take on the Dodgers. The Nats' Grapefruit League home slate begins the next day, when they host the Beltway-rival Orioles.

The Nationals play a total of 14 games at Space Coast Stadium, including a pair of split-squad games.

The Nationals' exhibition season comes to an end with a four-game set against the Birds in four different cities over three days: March 28 (split-squad in Viera and another in Columbus, Ohio, the site of the Nats' new Triple-A affiliate), March 30 (Norfolk, Va.) and March 31 (Washington).

How do I get tickets?
Space Coast Stadium seats 7,200 fans, and fans can get tickets at www.nationals.com, the Space Coast Stadium ticket office or by calling 888-632-NATS.

Where is Viera, and how do I get there?
It's about an hour away from Disney World. According to the Spring Training Media Guide, if you want to go to Space Coast Stadium, take I-95 South to Fiske/Stadium Parkway. Turn left on Fiske/Stadium Parkway to the Stadium.

If you are going in the opposite direction, take I-95 North to Wickham Road. Turn right to Lake Andrew Drive, and follow the four-way stop on Stadium Parkway. The stadium is a half-mile on the left.

How can I watch the team work out?
Washington works out on four grass fields, which lie about a five-minute walk from the stadium. The practices are open to the public at no charge.
