The Washington Nationals today announced that they will not renew the contracts of bullpen coach Rick Aponte, bench coach Pat Corrales, hitting coach Lenny Harris, first base coach Jerry Morales, third-base coach Tim Tolman or strength and conditioning coordinator Kazuhiko Tomooka for the 2009 season. The club also announced that Randy St. Claire will return as pitching coach. Nationals Senior Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made the announcements.

"We appreciate all the coaches' hard work the last couple of years, but we felt change was necessary," said Bowden.

St. Claire was named Expos pitching coach in '03 and is the longest-tenured member of Washington's coaching staff.
