Nationals trim Spring Training roster to 42
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

The Washington Nationals today optioned right-handed pitchers Emiliano Fruto, Beltran Perez and Chris Schroder to Columbus of the Triple-A International League. The club also reassigned right-handed pitcher Winston Abreu, catcher Danny Ardoin, catcher Brandon Harper, right-handed pitcher Colby Lewis, outfielder Jose Macias and left-handed pitcher Arnie Munoz to minor-league camp. Nationals Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made the announcements.

With these moves, the Nationals now have 42 players in big league camp. In addition, right-handed pitcher Luis Ayala, first baseman Nick Johnson, left-handed pitcher Mike O'Connor and left-handed pitcher Brandon Claussen (minor league) are expected to begin the season on the Disabled List.
