Washington Nationals first baseman Nick Johnson suffered a fractured right femur in the bottom of the eighth inning of Saturday's game against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.

He will undergo surgery to repair the femur tonight at New York Hospital Queens. Dr. Peter Dzenis will perform the surgery with assistance from Nationals team orthopedist Dr. Ben Shaffer.
