The Washington Nationals today purchased the contract of catcher Wiki Gonzalez from New Orleans of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. The club then reassigned catcher Alberto Castillo and right-handed pitcher Kevin Gryboski to minor-league camp, and gave outfielder Michael Tucker his unconditional release. Later, right-handed pitcher Travis Hughes was outrighted to New Orleans and accepted the assignment. Nationals Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made the announcements.

With the roster moves, the Nationals' roster stands at 25.
