The Washington Nationals today optioned left-handed pitcher Billy Traber to New Orleans of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. The club then reassigned right-handed pitcher Kyle Denney, catcher Mike DiFelice, outfielder Kenny Kelly, outfielder George Lombard, right-handed pitcher Saul Rivera and right-handed pitcher Steve Watkins to minor-league camp. Washington also released left-handed pitcher Valerio de los Santos per his contract. Nationals Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made the announcements.
With the moves, the Nationals currently have 38 players in big league camp.
