The Honorary Bat Girl for the San Diego Padres is Ana Muñoz, who will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on Thursday, May 14 before the Padres take on the Washington Nationals at 7:10 p.m.

    The San Diego Padres will honor the recipient of the first Hispanic Heritage Comunidad Award for 2015 on April 27 in a pregame ceremony prior to that night's game vs. the Houston Astros. Niki Mani, currently a senior at La Jolla Country Day, has been selected as the recipient of the award by members of the Padres' Hispanic Community Advisory Council (HCAC). For the first time in the program's history, each winner will also receive $1,000 from the Padres Foundation to be donated to the charity of their choice.

In addition, the club has optioned right-handed pitchers Brandon Maurer and Kevin Quackenbush to Triple-A El Paso, placed left-handed pitcherCory Luebke on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left elbow and right-handed pitcher Josh Johnson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow and has selected the contract of catcher Wil Nieves.
