    HOUSTON, TX - ROOT SPORTS, the new television home of the Houston Astros, announced today that the network will produce and broadcast up to 162 Houston Astros games during the 2015 Major League Baseball season.

  • Astros Reassign Five Players, Option Three to Minor League Camp

    The Houston Astros made several roster moves this morning affecting a total of eight players in Major League camp. Five players were reassigned to minor league camp: shortstop Carlos Correa, left-handed pitcher Darin Downs, catcher Tyler Heineman, right-handed pitcher James Hoyt and infielder Gregorio Petit. Three players were optioned to minor league camp: right-handed pitcher Jake Buchanan, infielder Matt Dominguez and catcher Max Stassi. The announcements were made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

  • Astros to celebrate Little League 2015 Opening Day at Community Leaders Parks

    Little League Baseball is celebrating Opening Day of the 2015 season on Saturday, March 28, and the Astros are joining in on the festivities at their Community Leaders parks throughout Houston. Astros Foundation Executive Director Twila Carter, Astros legend Jose Cruz and other Astros alumni and personnel will be on hand at several different parks throughout the day to wish the young ballplayers luck as they kick off the 2015 Little League season.

  • Jeff Luhnow to be guest on Astroline Thursday

    HOUSTON, TX - Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow will be the final guest on Astroline which concludes this Thursday, March 26, at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT), and airs from the ESPN Club at Disney's BoardWalk in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Astros radio color commentator and former Major League pitcher Steve Sparks will serve as the host.
