  • Rays open eighth spring in Charlotte County on February 21

    The Tampa Bay Rays will begin their 19th spring training and eighth in Charlotte County on Sunday, February 21 when second-year Manager Kevin Cash and his staff welcome 38 pitchers and catchers to Charlotte Sports Park. The players will take the field at 9:30 a.m. The first full-squad workout is scheduled for February 26 when the camp expands to 62 players, including 22 non-roster invites. For all spring training workouts, admission and parking are free.

  • Kevin Cash to present key to family for Rays' Habitat for Humanity home

    The Tampa Bay Rays not only provided the funding for a Habitat for Humanity home in South St. Petersburg; Rays staff also took ownership of the build by contributing more than 1,000 volunteer hours on the construction site. On Thursday, February 11, with team mascot Raymond at his side, Rays Manager Kevin Cash will present Lakeba Wallace and her daughter the key to their new home. Rays President Brian Auld and President of Baseball Operations Matt Silverman will also participate in the dedication and key presentation at 4650 6th Avenue South at 4 p.m.

    For the third straight year, the Rays, Majestic Athletic and Suncoast Credit Union will provide jerseys and caps to more than 10,000 T-ball players and coaches from more than 80 local leagues.

  • Rays complete four-player trade with Rockies; sign Pearce to one-year contract

    The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired outfielder Corey Dickerson and minor league third baseman Kevin Padlo from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for left-handed relief pitcher Jake McGee and right-handed pitcher German Marquez. In addition, the Rays agreed to a one-year contract with free agent first baseman/outfielder Steve Pearce.

    The Tampa Bay Rays have signed left-handed pitchers Justin Marks and Adam Wilk to minor league contracts with an invitation to major league spring training. Rays minor league right-handed pitcher Kyle McPherson was also invited to major league spring training.

    The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to terms for the 2016 season with eight of their remaining arbitration-eligible players: right-handed pitcher Alex Cobb, catcher Hank Conger, outfielder Brandon Guyer, outfielder Desmond Jennings, left-handed relief pitcher Jake McGee, first baseman/outfielder Logan Morrison, right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez and catcher Rene Rivera.

  • Rays Agree on Two-Year Contract with Forsythe

    The Tampa Bay Rays and infielder Logan Forsythe have agreed to a two-year contract with a one-year club option for 2018. The contract replaces his second and third years of arbitration eligibility and potentially his first season of free agency.
