  • Royals in the community

    As the Royals return home to host the Chicago White Sox (May 26-29) and the Tampa Bay Rays (May 30-June 1), the Club will host many community initiatives at Kauffman Stadium. Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas will host children and families from their respective charities, Big Brothers Big Sisters (May 26) and Moose Lodge (May 27). In addition, Breast Cancer Awareness (May 26) and Play Sun Smart (May 29) will take place during the homestand. The annual player calendar shoot with Braden's Hope for Childhood Cancer will take place on May 31. Please see below for more details.

  • Royals trade OF Jose Martinez to St. Louis for cash considerations

    The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have traded outfielder Jose Alberto Martinez to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for cash considerations. Martinez, 27, was designated for assignment on May 18.

    The 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals will return home to host the Chicago White Sox (May 26-29) and Tampa Bay Rays (May 30-June 1).     The Kansas City Royals announced Monday that they have placed outfielder Alex Gordon on the 15-day disabled list with a scaphoid fracture in his right wrist.

  • Royals reinstate 3B Mike Moustakas

    Moustakas, 27, is hitting .258 with six doubles, seven homers and 13 RBI in his first 25 games this season. He played in two rehab games with the Naturals, going 2-for-8 with an RBI.

  • Royals select Merrifield; option Colon; designate Martinez for assignment

    The Royals have selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Whit Merrifield from Triple-A Omaha. In corresponding roster moves, the club has optioned infielder Christian Colon to Omaha and designated outfielder Jose Martinez for assignment.

  • Royals recall Mills as 26th man; send Moustakas, Minor on rehab assignments

    The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Alec Mills from Northwest Arkansas as the 26th man for today's split doubleheader with the Boston Red Sox. Mills, 24, a 22nd-round pick by the Royals in 2012, is 1-1 with a 2.36 ERA in seven starts for the Naturals. He leads the Texas League with 44 strikeouts in 42.0 innings this season.

  • Royals-Red Sox game postponed

    Tonight's game between the Kansas City Royals and the Boston Red Sox has been postponed due to rain. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 18 at 7:15 p.m. CT as the second game of a split doubleheader.

  • The Royals Charities Legacy Brick Program returns

    Proceeds from the program will continue to benefit Royals Charities, supporting children and educational programs, youth baseball and softball and the military in and around Kansas City.
