Bucs trade Schlereth to Tigers for cash considerations
Left-handed pitcher was 1-2 with a 7.23 ERA through 21 games for Triple-A Indianapolis
The Pirates sent left-handed pitcher Daniel Schlereth to the Tigers for cash considerations on Tuesday.
Schlereth, who pitched for Detroit from 2010-12, was 1-2 with a 7.23 ERA, 18 strikeouts and 18 walks in 18 2/3 innings over 21 appearances for Triple-A Indianapolis this season. The Tigers have assigned Schlereth to Triple-A Toledo, where he will serve to add depth to the organization.
"Great to be back," Schlereth said in a text message to MLB.com. "I feel like I'm at home now."
In his first stint with the Tigers, Schlereth was 4-2 with a 3.98 ERA in 73 appearances.
Schlereth had signed with the Pirates this offseason. He was not on their 40-man roster.
