The mission of Team Red, White and Blue is to enrich the lives of American's veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. The Wounded Warrior's mission includes opportunities to honor and empower warriors who were wounded serving in the Armed Forces. Each group will receive a donation from Pirates Charities in an on-field check presentation ceremony before the game on Tuesday, March 25.
On Tuesday at McKechnie, the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Pirates camouflage cap as they enter the park, and all fans are invited to stay after the game for a postgame concert by country music star Craig Campbell. Tickets start at $14 and tickets purchased in advance are discounted $2 off day-of-game pricing. There is no additional cost for the Campbell concert. Purchasing a ticket to the Pirates game is the only way to gain admission to the concert.
The two-day Legacy of Valor event is made possible through a partnership with the Patterson Foundation, an organization with a core goal of focusing on creating "New Realities," or realities that emerge when organizations engage in innovative collaboration. The foundation believes in sharing the value of what they learn by working with others to achieve a synergy that benefits all involved and the wider community.
Legacy of Valor is a campaign that rallies our community to honor veterans, inspire patriotism and pass freedom on to others. A mosaic of community-driven partnerships will educate and focus the community to use time, talent and treasure to recognize the service and sacrifice of all veterans and their families.
