GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Adrian Gonzalez slugged a pair of home runs and had six RBIs while Hyun-Jin Ryu made his most impressive start of the spring as the Dodgers beat the Brewers, 11-1, on Sunday.

Mark Ellis joined Gonzalez with a homer, two singles and a walk. Andre Ethier had a pair of doubles and a single. And Minor Leaguer Brian Cavazos-Galvez, son of former Dodger Balvino Galvez, also homered.

Milwaukee scored in the first inning on Alex Gonzalez's sacrifice fly, cashing in Carlos Gomez, who singled and stole a base. But Ryu settled in, striking out six and retiring the last 11 batters he faced before leaving after 5 2/3 innings because of a pitch limit.

Adrian Gonzalez's opposite-field homer off Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo with one out in the bottom of the first inning followed a single by Ellis and a ground-rule double by Ethier misplayed by left fielder Cole Garner. Gallardo pitched only two innings.

"I threw three days ago," said Gallardo.  "[Pitching on short rest] was just to get the schedule set up [for an Opening Day start].  You want to go out there and do well.  I left that ball up to Gonzalez.  The main thing is I fell behind in the count.  You can't do that to a good hitter.  I left a back-door slider up out over the plate.  He hits the ball the other way very well, so you have to keep the ball down."

The Dodgers added to the lead in the third inning off John Axford with a single by Ellis, a double by Ethier and a sacrifice fly by Adrian Gonzalez.

The Dodgers put the game away in the fifth when Ellis led off with a homer, Ethier singled and Adrian Gonzalez tucked his second home run inside the left-field foul pole.

Up next: Josh Beckett, who has been the most consistent of the Dodgers' eight starting pitchers this Spring, takes the ball at 1:05 p.m. PT on Monday against Arizona and Randall Delgado in a home game. Monday also figures to be a day of significant roster cuts for the Dodgers, as manager Don Mattingly wants to trim back the numbers so he can prepare his core group for the start of the season.
