Nationals' contest with Astros rained out
Lannan, Stammen set to pitch simulated games Thursday
VIERA, Fla. -- Thursday's game between the Nationals and Astros was canceled because of rain and will not be made up.
Left-hander John Lannan and right-hander Craig Stammen were scheduled to pitch in the game, but they will now throw in simulated games sometime Thursday. Lannan is expected to throw four innings and will not start until Wednesday against the Astros in Kissimmee, Fla.
The Nationals play their next game Friday afternoon against the Yankees at Space Coast Stadium.
Right-hander Jason Marquis will get the start for Washington, while left-hander Matt Chico is expected pitch in the game.
Fans holding tickets for Thursday's contest against Houston can exchange those tickets for any other Nationals 2010 Spring Training contest, subject to availability.
