Marlins at the plate: Third baseman Emilio Bonifacio had two hits and drove in three runs. Shortstop Robert Andino had two hits and drove in a run.

Nationals at the plate: Catcher Javier Valentin went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Designated hitter Josh Willingham went 1-for-2 with a run scored. The Nationals scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Willie Harris highlighted the scoring with an RBI single.

Marlins on the mound: Right-hander Josh Johnson pitched five solid innings and gave up one run on four hits. He struck out seven batters and walked two others. Right-handers Sean West and Logan Kensing pitched an inning apiece without giving up a run.

Nationals on the mound: Left-hander Scott Olsen had his worst outing of the spring, going four innings and giving up four runs on five hits. Right-hander Jason Bergmann pitched two shutout innings and struck out two batters.

Grapefruit League records: Marlins 7-9-1; Nationals 8-8-2

Up next: The Nationals are back at Space Coast Stadium for an afternoon game against the Orioles. The two teams will face each other for the third time at 1 :05 p.m. ET. The Orioles have won two of the matchups.

The Marlins return to Jupiter, Fla., to play the Phillies at 1:05 p.m. ET. Marlins right-hander Chris Volstad will face Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton.
