PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- After throwing a pain-free bullpen session on Friday, Nationals right-hander Shawn Hill will throw one inning against the Cardinals in Jupiter, Fla., on Monday. It will be Hill's first game since Feb. 25 against the Astros.

Although he was happy to deliver the good news about Hill to the media, manager Manny Acta was cautious when it comes to relying on Hill for the season because of the right-hander's inability to stay healthy every year. In a perfect world, the Nationals would like Hill to be their fourth starter in the rotation.

"We are not making any plans around him at all," Acta said. "That's the way we approached it during the offseason, and that's the way we are approaching it now. By the end of camp, if he's healthy and ready to go, that will be gravy -- and good gravy."
