Guzman led the team in hits and runs scored, and he had a .316 batting average entering Sunday. Guzman also made his second All-Star appearance in July at Yankee Stadium.
Acta believes the Lasik surgery that Guzman had after the 2005 season worked wonders. Guzman missed all of the '06 season, but since '07, he has a .318 batting average.
"He gained so much respect from me this season, because how professional he has been on and off field," Acta said. "From Opening Day until today, he has been consistent and played his heart out, regardless of our situation."
