Nationals can't solve Penny, Dodgers
Starters Perez sails early, runs into trouble in fourth inning

Dodgers at the plate: Andre Ethier went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. He hit a two-run home run off Odalis Perez in the top of the fourth inning and had a two-run single in the sixth inning off Eude Brito. Rafael Furcal also had a two-run single off Brito in the sixth.
Nationals at the plate: With his second-inning double, Pete Orr was the only member of the Nationals to collect a hit off right-hander Brad Penny. Dmitri Young scored the Nationals' first run in the seventh inning on a single by Orr.
Dodgers on the mound: Penny pitched five shutout innings. He struck out one batter and walked two others. Takashi Saito was perfect in his one inning on the mound, working a 1-2-3 sixth on 11 pitches.
Nationals on the mound: Perez pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on five hits.
Grapefruit League records: Dodgers 7-10-1, Nationals 8-10-1.
Up next for the Nationals: Washington will travel to Fort Lauderdale Fla., on Sunday to play the Baltimore at 1:05 p.m. ET. Nationals right-hander John Patterson will oppose Orioles right-hander Daniel Cabrera.
Up next for the Dodgers: Los Angeles' split-squad left stateside will return to Vero Beach to play the Florida on Sunday at 10:05 a.m. PT. Dodgers right-hander Derek Lowe will face Marlins left-hander Andrew Miller.
