Zimmerman not concerned
Nats third baseman practices, says right hip is fine
VIERA, Fla. -- Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman arrived at Space Coast Stadium without a limp on Wednesday and appeared to be ready to play in an exhibition game. However, Zimmerman rehabbed his right hip and then went to practice.
The previous night, Zimmerman suffered tightness in his right hip flexor after scoring in the sixth inning against the Braves. He remained in the game until the eighth inning.
"I feel fine," Zimmerman said. "It's just a little tweak. It's nothing serious."
Manager Manny Acta wasn't planning on starting Zimmerman against the Dodgers on Wednesday anyway because he wanted to give Aaron Boone more at-bats. Boone has missed most of the exhibition season recovering from left knee surgery.
