July 14, 1967 > Houston Astros infielder Eddie Mathews blasts the 500th home run of his career. The former Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves legend homers against another future Hall of Famer, Juan Marichal, and helps the Astros to an 8-6 win over the San Francisco Giants at Candlestick Park.
