Ball Girl

Job Title: Ball Girl
Department: Ballpark Operations
Status: Part-Time, Seasonal

The Position:
The Seattle Mariners Baseball Club is seeking several qualified individuals with softball and/or athletic backgrounds for the position of Ball Girl for the 2015 season. Ball Girls operate within our Fielder Team as part of our Day of Game Staff and are expected to work within the Fielder Team in addition to Ball Girl shifts.

Expectations for all Fielders:

    Provide an exceptional ballpark experience for all guests and employees at Safeco Field

  • Support the Seattle Mariners sustainability efforts
  • Have availability to work a minimum of 50% of all home games (40 games)
  • Must be of high school or college age (ball girls must be at least 18 years old by April 6th, 2015)
  • Have an ability to stand/sit or be stationed at a post for long periods of time
  • Follow instructions from Fielder Supervisor and Setup Team

Ball Girls:

  • Retrieve foul balls during game
  • Protect guests by fielding hard hit balls hit toward the stands
  • Distribute retrieved balls to young guests with care
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with Mariners personnel, media, and other on-field guests

Part-Time Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving Assistant

Job Title: Part-Time Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving Assistant
Department: Procurement
Reports To: Shipping and Receiving Manager
Status: Part-Time, 30-35 hours per week
Compensation: $11/Hour

The Position:
The Seattle Mariners Baseball Club is currently recruiting to fill a Part-Time position of Warehouse/Shipping & Receiving Assistant reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in unloading and loading of vehicles & contents by hand and/or forklift
  • Receive and process incoming material. Promptly check-in and inspect incoming shipments of material, equipment and supplies to ensure compliance with purchase order specifications
  • Responsible for storage of all items in warehouse, with emphasis on safety
  • Sort and place material or items on racks, shelves or other locations by hand or use of a forklift
  • Monitor and maintain inventory. Record amount received and distributed via appropriate computer program
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory and securing and items stored in warehouse at all times. Ensure contents are secure and conform to the Washington Division of Industrial Safety
  • Move material or items from the receiving or storage areas to designated locations
  • Distribute items as required to individuals throughout the ballpark (Supplies, equipment, promotional items, banners, furniture, mail, etc.)
  • Assist in the Mailroom when need arises. Will be required to learn and facilitate all aspects of the Mailroom. This position will be the designated back up person for the Mailroom when needed
  • Must be willing to adhere to necessary guidelines and controls to protect confidential information. Employee will often work with or will be exposed to information or products that must be kept confidential in order to protect the Club's interest
  • Must be aware that along with confidentiality, they will handle items, cargo or products of a high dollar value and will be dealt with as proprietary information
  • Operate a variety of equipment and machinery on the premises such as forklift, stock chaser, rolling stock ladder, hand trucks, driving carts, and pallet jacks

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in shipping & receiving procedures
  • Ability to lift 75lbs
  • Ability to operate a variety of machines such as forklift, etc. with emphasis on safe driving techniques (Forklift certified a plus)
  • Computer experience required using a variety of software programs for input, processing, monitoring and maintaining warehouse inventory contents. (Outlook, Excel, Word as well as receiving software. Operate a hand held scanner)
  • Ability to catalog contents and maintain records as required. Knowledge of principles and procedures of record keeping and safe driving
  • Strong organizational skills required for coordinating shipping/receiving and supply functions.
  • Customer service skills to interface with and assist a wide range of employees, contractors and general public
