• Create new or innovative ways of expanding and improving youth baseball or softball programs?
• Improve the quality and increase the number of youth participating in baseball and softball programs?
• Address opportunities for underserved youth?
• Receive community support?
• Reach a critical mass of youth in your community?

If you are interested in mere basic field renovation improvements please complete only pages 1-5 and 8.

#2 Reds Community Fund and P&G Community Makeover

• Involve the community, receive community support and/ or reach a critical mass of your community?
• Fall within the surrounding greater Cincinnati area, primarily within the I-275 loop?
• Provide enough work for 500 volunteers to complete in one day? Type of work includes landscaping general maintenance and repairs, painting, etc. If multiple locations, have locations that are within two miles of each other with in the same community?
• Focus on a park, field, school, or center that features both indoor and outdoor recreation?
• Create new or innovative ways of expanding and improving youth baseball or softball programs?
• Improve the quality and increase the number of youth participating in baseball and softball programs?
• Support existing programs which have demonstrated success in the community?
• Address opportunities for underserved youth?

If your field renovation needs could be expanded to include more complex community work, you will need to complete pages 1-8.

In order to be considered for assistance you must provide photographs, site maps and/or additional narratives to highlight relevant information regarding your project needs. Project must include a minimum of one baseball field but should also include a significant community park or asset in need of renovation if you are applying for the community makeover. Please note, incomplete applications will not be considered.

• Strong partnerships with other organizations, agencies, local business community and individuals with community support and leadership
• Thorough planning of the proposed project
• Commitment to increase youth participation in baseball and softball and to be inclusive in all areas of its program
• Ability to maintain and protect the community project via operational self-sufficiency as well as its ability to maintain community facilities and fields on an on-going basis
• Willingness and ability to provide complete and accurate information during the application and review process

Grant Application Process - Timeline

• Completed applications (along with additional requested collateral materials) may be submitted beginning November 1, 2012.
• All applications must be received in hand by January 15, 2013 in order to be considered for the 2013 Community Makeover grant
• The receipt of the application will be confirmed via E-mail; please provide a reliable E-mail address that is checked regularly
• Once all applications have been received, selected applicants will be chosen to receive a site visit which will occur the week of February 11, 2013.
• All applicants will receive written confirmation of the status of their application the week of February 25, 2013.
